One billion pounds profits of Banque du Caire during the first quarter of this year
During the first quarter of this year 2023, Banque du Caire’s net profits increased by 29%, to reach one billion pounds, compared to 800 million pounds during the same period, last year, according to the independent financial statements announced by the bank.
The bank’s profits before taxes increased by 31%, to about 1.9 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2023, compared to 1.4 billion pounds during the same period of 2022.
Operating revenues at Banque du Caire increased during the first quarter of this year to reach 4.9 billion pounds, compared to 3.5 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2022, a growth of 38%.
Cash and balances without interest at Banque du Caire declined during the first quarter by about 22%, to record 15.1 billion pounds, compared to 19.5 billion pounds during the same period last year.
The bank’s financial position grew to 362 billion pounds during the first quarter, compared to 322 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2022, supported by an increase in deposits to 267.1 billion pounds, compared to 250.2 billion.
Deposits increased, supported by an increase in the balances of certificates of deposit and savings, to 96.8 billion pounds compared to 85.6 billion pounds, while demand deposits rose to 54.2 billion pounds compared to 50.3 billion, and savings accounts fell to 30.96 billion pounds compared to 32.28 billion pounds.
Individual loans increased to 57.7 billion pounds compared to 54.2 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2022, and the credit card portfolio increased to 1.2 billion pounds compared to one billion pounds during the same period of 2022.
The personal loan portfolio rose to 50.8 billion pounds during the first quarter, compared to 47.86 billion pounds during the same period in 2022,
and the bank’s real estate financing portfolio rose to 3.6 b
